Although I've shown the Fred Rowe knife that my ex-wife scrimshawed I haven't posted the first custom knife I bought. Similar in style but smaller, is this Fred Rowe knife - damascus, stag, copper spacers and butt cap, and I believe ambonya burl wood handle.

I had two nice boot daggers by the maker named Funderberg; one with an ivory micarta handle and this one with more then likely Hippo Tusk. The micarta handled knife was stolen from my table at a knife show in Ohio around 2007-2008. Here's the one I still have:

Here's a very well made knife, made by a maker named McPherson; I've never found anyone who knows of him or his work. The knife scales are made from original Westinghouse Micarta; which yellows like ivory over time. The knife has a leather sheath; covered in

That 'Westinghouse Micarta' adds quite a nice touch along with the beautiful scrimshaw work ... 2

A Triple Play! Colt's M45A1 - the Non-Custom Shop copy of the 1911 supplied to the Marine Corps by Colt. The only difference is the slide roll mark; even the serial number with the EGA (Eagle, Globe, Anchor) suffix.
A 1911 Stock fixed blade knife by talented Ohio Knife Maker Mickey Yurco; with a set of M45A1 stocks for the handle of the knife; And they are resting on an authentic Navajo Rug supposedly woven by Bessie Manygoats, one of the better weavers... ![]() since I'd taken the above picture i found a set of the correct grip screws for the knife handles.

nice. I had one of those 1911 knives. I remember when they were first released. I have since lost mine someplace while hunting. Still not super happy about that. Mine was not by same maker but the company that did the mass production of them. Don't remember the name though.

I like that Colt! I was never a fan of those 1911 knives but, I can appritiate the craftsmanship that went into that one.

Day 6; a bit different knife.
I count "Mudbone" as a friend. His knives are all handmade; no power tools have been injured in the making of his knives. Roger made this Beaver Tail Bowie out of a horse rasp. What looks like serrations on the blade is from the teeth of the file. In typical Mudbone Fashion he was busy sewing the sheath for this knife at the show when I bought it from him. ![]() ![]()
