Pretty much....but so do other mass produced pistols. Wilson even used to use some MIM, long ago and far away. The semi custom's got away from it. Kimber just got a bad rap from bad MIM molding years ago, and it stuck. Their problem now seems to be spending more money on advertising then they do quality control. I own an '02 or '03 Tactical Pro II, and after replacing the barrel link, it never misses a beat...but out of the box it wouldn't even load hardball

I don't know what year mine is but, I have had no issues of any kind with it (neither did the previous owner). Of course, I have never run it hard.
I just like the "style" that Kimber puts out in their pistols. I especially like the Raptor series but, I think my money would be wisely spent elsewhere. IDK. |

The Eclipse I picked up last month was built on my birthday in 2011 ... I don't think I'll ever part with that one! The previous owner said he only put about twenty rounds through it. I intend to remedy that real soon!
And figure out what needs fixed after that, of course ![]() |

I've got two Kimbers, an Ultra Crimson Trace and a Pro Carry II, and have never had an issue with either one so far.
