Chief has sent me two very good manuals. The level of detail in parts and names is excellent.
 But this is designed to help you get it a part and back together spacifically.

After a week and a half of basically no firearm access, I'll be trearing my 1911s down after I get home.
I plan to use the How I Did It documents.

I took that "BIG STEP" last night and stripped mine, It was a lot easier then i thought,with the help of
 (moral support) and Dave Waits who made sure i had done the safety checks, and the link  posted made it less stressful.

and took her down to the frame and it went back together easier than I thought! Didn't have to take to a gunsmith in a box......
